Our client is looking for a Bilingual Health & Safety Specialist with a minimum of 5 years related experience within a unionized organization, excellent French written, and a University Degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources along with working knowledge of WSIB / CSPAAT. In addition to your excellent verbal and written communication in French and English , you must have a proven knowledge of health and safety rules and legislation and be a strong negotiator. You have expertise handling a variety of situations requiring a sense of urgency and the ability to manage priorities. You have a proven interest to work with a team as well as individually, and you understand and respect confidential issues. A good knowledge of MS Office tools, and a valid driver's license are also required.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible to manage all work related accidents and illness cases. You will be managing all grievances and process current requests, analyzing each case individually, following-up on absences and make recommendations. You will interpret legislation and work with existing collective agreements; you will develop prevention programs and educate department managers and staff. In addition, you will plan, coordinate and conduct relevant training sessions to ensure awareness and promote prevention. You will develop and maintain Health & Security policies and procedures and ensure compliance. You will also participate in Health and Safety committee meetings and liaise with all respective government agencies. You will also be responsible for any other related duties as needed.
